As a CGI Artist within the Curve Studio, you will be responsible for producing high-quality digital imagery and animations for a variety of projects, including films, video games, advertisements, and architectural visualizations. You will work closely with art directors, designers, and clients to understand project requirements and deliver visually stunning results.

 

YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE AS A CG ARTIST FOR:

  • Ensuring the quality of your work is assessed prior to sending out to client
  • Attending kick off meetings when required, with client either in person or on line
  • Ensuring you understand any new technology required by the company for use. That it is understood and applied effectively to relevant projects.
  • Using Unreal Engine, in collaboration with other 3D software (3DS Max, Maya, Houdini, etc) to create photorealistic still imagery and video assets.
  • Texture, light, and shade 3D models to achieve desired aesthetics and mood.
  • Collaborating with art directors, designers, and clients to understand project objectives and deliverables.
  • Iterating on designs based on feedback and make necessary revisions to meet project deadlines.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve skills and workflows.
  • Optimize assets and animations for various platforms and mediums, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Maintaining organization and file management protocols to ensure efficient workflow and project collaboration.
  • Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Upholding high standards of quality and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

THE BASICS.

You will work from our UK office, which is vibrant, modern, and well-serviced. Your working week will be 9-5. On occasion you may be required to work more than 37.5 hours per week in order to complete projects and client obligations. You will be paid at the rate of time and a half for any hours exceeding your normal contracted hours. You are entitled to 28 days annual leave, plus the national and regional holidays. Industry competitive salary, bespoke to your skill set, experience, and quality of work. This job description works only in conjunction with a signed contract of employment.

Retouch Artist

As a Retouch Artist, you will be responsible for creating, enhancing and perfecting digital assets to meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetic appeal. You will collaborate closely with photographers, art directors, CG artists and clients to understand their vision and bring it to life through expert retouching techniques.

YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Appropriate quality control measures being in place and used

 

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Review and assess digital images for imperfections, including blemishes, colour inconsistencies, and other flaws.
  • Use industry-standard retouching software (such as Adobe Photoshop, DaVinci, After Effects) to skilfully manipulate images while maintaining a natural and authentic appearance.
  • Collaborate with CG artists, photographers and art directors to understand project objectives and provide creative input and solutions.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple images or a series of images and assets within a project.
  • Meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality retouched images within established timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to address feedback, revisions, and any specific retouching requests.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in retouching and image editing.
  • Maintain organisation and file management protocols to ensure efficient workflow and project collaboration.

 

WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

  • Proficiency in retouching software, particularly Adobe Photoshop, DaVinci, After Effects and a solid understanding of image editing techniques, colour grading, colour correction, visual effects, and audio post-production video editing.
  • Strong eye for detail and a keen sense of aesthetics, with the ability to enhance images while maintaining a natural and realistic appearance.
  • Excellent understanding of colour theory, composition, and lighting principles.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from others.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach retouching challenges creatively and innovatively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to evolving project requirements and client preferences.
  • Passion for photography, digital art, and visual storytelling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, or related field is preferred but not required.
